Pale Blue Dot

The Earth is the only world known, so far, to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment, the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known.

          Fall Color

Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with it’s last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.

            We The People

In this world, people hurt each other. It happens to everyone. Intentionally, unintentionally, regretfully or not. It’s part of what we do as people. The beauty is that we have the ability to heal and forgive. Let’s get lost!

              Journey Of Life

Confine yourself to observing and you always miss the point of your own life. The object can be stated this way: Live the best life you can. Life is a game whose rules you learn if you leap into it and play it to the hilt. Otherwise, you are caught off balance, continually surprised by the shifting play. Non-players often whine and complain that luck always passes them by. They refuse to see that they can create some of their own luck. Good Luck!

                Happy

“The purpose of our lives is to be happy.” ~Dalai Lama
If you’ve been pondering your purpose lately, this is a quick way to get grounded again, and to take an inventory of what’s working and what’s not in your life. You may find another purpose for your life, but underneath it all is this deeper underlying purpose.
Make this day a Happy day!

A few thoughts on the power of the word one

A few thoughts on the power of the word one…

“The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Success consists of getting up just one more time than you fall.” –Oliver Goldsmith

“Ideas can be life-changing. Sometimes all you need to open the door is just one more good idea.” –Jim Rohn

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” –Thomas A. Edison

“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” –Abraham Lincoln

“Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music.” –Ronald Reagan

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret to getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks and then starting on the first one.” –Mark Twain

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” –Robert Brault

“Growth is an erratic forward movement: two steps forward, one step back. Remember that and be very gentle with yourself.” –Julia Cameron

“One song can change a moment, one idea can change a world, one step can start a journey, but a prayer can change even the impossible.” –Unknown

In the same spirit of the word one:

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” –Martin Luther King Jr.

And: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” –Lao Tzu, Chinese Philosopher (604 BC-531 BC).

The power of ‘one’ has often been cited. Yet we fail to apply it effectively most of the times. There’s an opportunity out there for each one of us. Its upto us to see it and grab it.

                    Pawnee Buttes National Grassland

                    Pawnee Buttes
What is now a sea of grass and sky called Pawnee National Grassland was once littered with hopeful frontier families foraging westward in humble wagons. The Homestead Act brought around six million settlers to the West’s plains by 1890, but harsh winters and droughts crushed their hopes of growing crops.
Yesterday I made my second trip to the Pawnee Buttes. This is a wonderful get-away from the daily hustle and bustle of town. With only about 35 visitors a day, it’s the place for beautiful solitude. The is a birdwatchers paradise and well worth the drive. This prairie is just like it was when people traveled the Overland trail. Nice to find the wide open grassland and imagine the Indian people and cowboys who first rode those lands. If you like open areas, this is for you. There is a decent hiking trail to the Pawnee Buttes. There are some neat areas to explore once you are at the Buttes. I love the wide open spaces and blue sky. It can get windy, so prepare for that.
                    Have a good day!

                      Land

What we have lost will never be returned to us. The land will not heal – too much blood. All we can do is learn from the past and make peace with it.

                          Phewa lake, Pokahara, Nepal

Phewa Lake, Pokhara, Nepal (Phewa Tal)
Phewa lake is the second largest freshwater lake of Nepal. This Lake is in just west of Pokhara, One of Nepal’s most beautiful spots. Phewa Lake is surrounded by a combination of monkey-filled forests and the high white peaks.
Boat trip in the lovely Phewa Lake is the foremost attraction of Pokhara. Paddling out into the middle of the lake is a nice way to spend a quite afternoon. Phewa lake is encircled by Sarangkot and Kaskikot hills, the lake holds a pagoda-style temple. Another attraction is the reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna range on the crystal clear water of the lake. The reflections in the mirror-like water in the early mornings are something you must see at least once before you die. Hire a boat and row yourself across the lake or hire a local to do it for you. There are some fine times to be had on this lake, even in the middle of the night too! Must see!!

One of the best hikes in Colorado. The lake and waterfalls are just beyond words. The crystal clear water will make you want to jump into the lake.
I went back again this year and it has become a yearly thing for me. I highly recommend this hike to anyone that will be visiting Colorado or anyone passing by the area of Glenwood Springs.
